Email campaigns

Design, send, and track email campaigns with built-in A/B testing, engagement scoring, and automatic follow-ups for your hottest leads.

How campaigns work

Campaigns let you send targeted emails to groups of leads and track exactly who opens, clicks, and shows buying intent. Every campaign flows through four stages: draft, send, track, and follow up.

Combine campaigns with audience segments to send hyper-targeted messages based on lead status, tags, engagement level, or any custom field.

Creating a campaign

  1. Go to Email Marketing in the sidebar, then click Campaigns.
  2. Click Create Campaign in the top-right corner.
  3. Enter your campaign name and subject line.
  4. Use the visual block editor to design your email. Drag and drop text, image, button, and divider blocks to build your layout.
  5. Select your recipients by filtering on lead status, tags, or a saved segment.
  6. Click Preview & Test to send yourself a test email and verify everything looks right on desktop and mobile.
  7. Optionally enable A/B subject testing to test two subject lines against each other.
  8. Click Send Now or Schedule to queue the campaign for a future date and time.

Visual block editor

The campaign editor uses a drag-and-drop block system. Available blocks include:

Use merge tags like {{first_name}} to personalize your emails. Personalized subject lines typically see 20-30% higher open rates.

Selecting recipients

You can target your campaign audience in three ways:

Asan automatically deduplicates recipients and excludes leads without valid email addresses.

Auto follow-ups

Enable auto follow-ups to re-engage leads who showed interest but did not take action:

  1. In the campaign editor, toggle Auto Follow-Up on.
  2. Choose the trigger — leads who opened but did not click, or leads detected as hot.
  3. Set the delay (e.g., 2 days after the original send).
  4. Write your follow-up email content.

Follow-up emails are sent automatically and tracked as part of the same campaign in analytics.

Campaign statuses

StatusMeaning
DraftThe campaign is being composed and has not been sent. You can edit everything freely.
ScheduledThe campaign is queued to send at a future date and time. You can cancel or reschedule before the send time.
SendingThe campaign is actively being delivered to recipients. This may take several minutes for large lists.
SentAll emails have been delivered. Tracking data is now accumulating.
PausedSending was paused mid-delivery. You can resume or cancel the remaining sends.

Campaign analytics

After sending, open the campaign to view its analytics dashboard:

Frequently asked

Can I schedule a campaign for later?+
Yes. When you are ready to send, click Schedule instead of Send Now, then pick your desired date and time. The campaign will automatically send at the scheduled time. Scheduling uses your account timezone.
Is there a minimum number of recipients?+
No. You can send a campaign to as few as one lead. However, for A/B testing to produce statistically meaningful results, you should have at least 200 recipients.
What happens if I edit a campaign that has already been sent?+
You cannot edit a campaign after it has been sent. If you need to make changes, duplicate the campaign, edit the copy, and send it to a new audience. This prevents confusion in your analytics data.
Can I duplicate a campaign?+
Yes. Open any sent or draft campaign and click Duplicate. This creates a new draft with the same content, subject line, and settings. You can then modify it and send to a different audience.
How do sending limits work?+
Sending limits are based on your account age and deliverability reputation. New accounts start with lower daily limits that gradually increase as your reputation builds. Check the Deliverability dashboard for your current limits.
