Phone numbers
Search, purchase, and manage your caller-ID numbers. Local numbers improve answer rates and build trust with leads in your area.
Your first number is free
Every Asan CRM account — including the Free plan — gets one US or Canadian phone number at no cost. You can claim it during onboarding or any time from the Phone Numbers page.
Buying a number
- Go to Phone Numbers in the sidebar.
- Click Buy Number. A search dialog opens.
- Search by area code or city. Enter a 3-digit area code (e.g., 416 for Toronto) or type a city name. Available numbers appear in a list.
- Select a number and confirm. The number is activated instantly and ready for outbound calls and SMS.
Additional numbers beyond your first free one cost $1–$2/month, deducted from your wallet balance on each billing cycle.
Managing your numbers
The Phone Numbers page lists every number in your account with its status and usage stats. From here you can:
- Rename a number — give it a friendly label like "Toronto Office" or "Solar Campaign."
- View call volume — see how many calls each number has made and received.
- Release a number — remove it from your account. The number returns to the pool and can no longer be used. This action cannot be undone.
Setting a default number
Your default number is used as the caller ID for manual dials and single outbound calls. To set it:
- Go to Phone Numbers.
- Click the star icon next to the number you want as default.
During power dialer sessions, Asan automatically rotates across all your numbers regardless of which one is set as default. See Number rotation & caps for details.
Call forwarding
You can forward incoming calls on any number to an external phone (your mobile, office line, etc.):
- Click the settings icon next to the number on the Phone Numbers page.
- Enable Call Forwarding and enter the destination number.
- Save. Incoming calls to that number now ring the external phone. If unanswered, the call goes to Asan's voicemail.
Multiple numbers and rotation
Having multiple numbers provides two key benefits:
- Higher answer rates. Rotating caller IDs across different area codes prevents your number from being flagged as spam by carriers.
- Reputation protection. DialGuard spreads call volume evenly across your numbers, keeping each number's reputation healthy.
Rotation is automatic — no configuration needed. The more numbers you add, the more resilient your outbound calling becomes.
