Tasks

Create tasks attached to leads or standalone to keep your follow-ups organized. Track due dates, get reminders, and never let a lead slip through the cracks.

Creating a task

  1. Go to Tasks in the sidebar. This opens your task list with all current tasks.
  2. Click + Add Task. A form appears where you can enter the task details.
  3. Enter a title. Use a clear, actionable title like "Follow up with John about pricing" rather than just "John."
  4. Set a due date. Choose when the task needs to be completed. Tasks without a due date will not trigger reminders.
  5. Link to a lead (optional). Select an associated lead so the task appears on that lead's detail page.
  6. Assign to yourself or a teammate. By default, the task is assigned to you. Choose a teammate from the dropdown to delegate it.
Keep task titles actionable and specific. "Call Maria re: contract renewal" is better than "Maria" — your future self will thank you.

Task views and filters

The Tasks page provides several views to help you focus on what matters right now:

ViewWhat it shows
All TasksEvery task in your organization, regardless of status or assignee.
Due TodayTasks with a due date of today — your immediate priority list.
OverdueTasks past their due date, shown in red. These need urgent attention.
CompletedTasks that have been checked off. Useful for reviewing what has been done.
My TasksOnly tasks assigned to you, filtered from the full list.

Dashboard quick-add

The dashboard includes a quick-add task widget so you can create tasks without leaving the page. Type a title and set a due date — the task is created instantly. This is ideal for capturing follow-ups during your morning review.

Tasks created from the dashboard quick-add are assigned to you by default. To assign to a teammate or link to a lead, open the full Tasks page.

Completing tasks

Due dates and reminders

Asan uses color-coded urgency to keep due dates visible throughout the app:

Notifications fire when a task becomes due, so you are alerted even if you are not on the Tasks page. Cori also includes overdue tasks in your daily briefing, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

Tasks without a due date will not trigger reminders or appear in the "Due Today" or "Overdue" views. Always set a due date for time-sensitive follow-ups.

Lead-linked tasks

When you link a task to a lead, it appears on that lead's detail page under the Tasks tab. This keeps follow-ups visible in context — anyone viewing the lead can see what needs to happen next.

After every call, create a lead-linked task for your next follow-up. This way, when you return to the lead, the next step is already waiting for you.

Tips

Frequently asked

Can I assign tasks to teammates?+
Yes. When creating or editing a task, use the assignee dropdown to select any team member in your organization. They will receive a notification about the assigned task.
Do tasks send email reminders?+
Tasks trigger in-app notifications when they become due. Email reminders for tasks can be configured in Settings → Notifications.
Can I set recurring tasks?+
Recurring tasks are not yet supported. For now, create a new task each time or use workflows to automate repetitive follow-up sequences.
Is there a limit on the number of tasks?+
No. You can create as many tasks as you need. There is no cap on tasks for any plan.
Can I bulk-create tasks?+
Bulk task creation is not currently available from the Tasks page. However, you can use bulk actions on the leads list to create follow-up tasks for multiple leads at once.
